Principal Message

Dear Families
As we approach Mother’s Day this Sunday, we extend our warmest wishes to all mothers, grandmothers, and carers in our community. Your love, guidance, and selfless care are deeply valued and truly reflect the heart of family life.
This week, our students enjoyed selecting gifts at our Mother’s Day Stall, made possible thanks to the generous support of our parent volunteers. We are especially grateful to all those who attended and assisted with the stall and our Mother’s Day Breakfast—your time and help made these events so special for our students and families.
We also thank you for your generosity: proceeds from the $2 donations for each stall item will go towards supporting the Carmelite Nuns in Lismore, a contemplative order dedicated to prayer and service. Your contributions are helping to support their mission, and we are truly grateful.
May this Mother’s Day be filled with love, joy, and blessings. Happy Mother’s Day!
We are delighted to share that Mrs Jess Wilson has recently received notification of her successful recognition as a LEAD Teacher through NESA. This prestigious accreditation acknowledges her outstanding work as a dedicated educator and her significant contributions to curriculum development, both within St Ambrose Primary School and the wider educational community.
Mrs Wilson’s leadership, commitment, and passion for teaching continue to inspire both students and staff. We are incredibly proud of her achievement and grateful for the positive impact she makes in our school each day.
Congratulations, Mrs Wilson, on this well-deserved recognition!
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Yours sincerely
Brian Laybutt

Mother's Day Stall and Event
A beautiful morning celebrating Mother's, Friends and the Special people in our lives. The rain didn't keep the smiles away. A huge THANK YOU to Briony from St.36 Pilates, Food Works and our Year 5 and Year 1 parent reps for their time and hard work, today couldn't have happened without you.

Polding Winter Sport Trials - Bathurst

Congratulations to Maya and Sam, who recently travelled to Bathurst to compete in the Diocesan Winter Sports Polding Trials! Both students represented St Ambrose with great skill and determination, giving their best in every game. St Ambrose is proud of your efforts and the way you demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the trials. Well done, Maya and Sam!

Request for Monster Raffle Committee
Later this year the St Ambrose School Community Group (Formerly Parent Forum) would like to hold a Monster Raffle to raise funds for our school. The School Community Group and the School will coordinate much of the organising, however we are calling for parent volunteers to form a dedicated Monster Raffle Committee.
The committee would predominantly be tasked with sourcing prizes including approaching businesses and the local community for prize donations, determining/sourcing appropriate prizes to purchase from funds raised, collection of pledged donations, collation/presentation of any prize hampers, etc.
Money raised will assist in the construction of a school barbecue and fund school events - Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Grandparents/Friends Day, St Ambrose Feast Day, etc.
The committee (along with all St Ambrose parents) are further invited to be involved in the periodic School Community Group meetings, if they so wish, however attendance at these meetings is not required.
Please contact St Ambrose School Community Group at stambrosescg@gmail.com or the school at sapot@lism.catholic.edu.au to volunteer for this committee.
Without your help we would not be able to hold this fundraising raffle and we appreciate your valuable time.

Free Parent Webinar: Boys and Young Men Online 27 May 12.30 - 1.15 pm
For boys and young men, the internet can be a place where they seek connection, validation and guidance as they explore what it means to be a man today. However, it also exposes them to risks like concerning content, online exploitation and the growing influence of harmful ideologies.
This free webinar will help parents understand:
- Social and cultural influences shaping boys and young men.
- How boys engage online, build relationships and how they may be vulnerable to manipulation or exploitation.
- The impact of social media, gaming, and influencers on their attitudes, behaviours and sense of identity.
- Practical strategies to build critical thinking, challenge harmful narratives, and create open conversations that empower boys and young men to navigate the online world safely and respectfully.
Register for this webinar here.
Apple Parent Sessions – We’d Love Your Input!
Each term, we host an Apple Parent Session on a Friday morning. These sessions are a great way to explore iPad features, set-up parental controls, showcase how iPads are used in class, ask questions, and build confidence in supporting your child’s digital learning journey.
To make these sessions as relevant and helpful as possible, we’d love to hear from you!
What topics would you like us to cover? Please let us know what you're curious about, what you’d find helpful, or any specific concerns you'd like addressed. To share your suggestions CLICK HERE.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts – your input helps shape these sessions to best meet the needs of our parent community.
