Book Week 2021
This week our school celebrated Book Week! The theme this year was A Reading Oasis: A cool place to discover a hot book!
Book Fair
The amazing Mrs Stubbs transformed our library into a Reading Oasis! Boys and girls loved visiting the Book Fair and making wish lists!
Reader’s Theatre
Each day, students from Years 5 & 6 told stories through Reader’s Theatre. Boys and girls in the younger classes loved listening to classic story tales like Hansel and Gretel and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. It was fantastic to see our Year 5 & 6 students model beautiful reading with character voices and expression!
Book Character Parade
Wednesday was our annual Book Character Parade! All of the children and teachers came to school dressed as their favourite book character. Thank you parents for all of your hard work with costumes! Everyone looked fantastic!
Story Kids Guest Speaker
Verity from Story Kids spoke to students about bringing writing to life through Podcasts! Verity shared some amazing episodes from StoryKids and explained how sound can engage an audience. Students then had the chance to create their own sound effects to stories using Garage Band. Thank you Verity for inspiring us to bring our writing to life with sound!
Book Inspired Artworks!
During Art this week students created an artwork based on their class book! Here are some of the class’ amazing masterpieces!
